YouTube offers over 100 kids movies, specials for free until August 31

Parents and caretakers struggling to juggle work, life, and kids, YouTube is throwing you a lifeline. From July 27 to August 31, YouTube Kids will release over 100 movies and specials every Monday to help you keep your kids engaged, enriched, and entertained ‘After School.’

This includes Tayo the Little Bus, Baby Shark and Pinkfong, Oggy & the Cockroaches, and Paddington. A collection of the best animated short films is also available, including the Oscar-winning Hair Love. They can also watch educational specials such as Sesame Street’s Elmo’s World News, produced in collaboration with the Lego Foundation, and selections from BBC Studios’ hit series, Hey Duggee

These will be under the “Shows” category as individual videos and playlists.

YouTube Kids will also be exclusively premiering Spookiz, a new movie produced by South Korean studio Keyring Studios and launched by WildBrain. Special YouTube Originals content including Disney’s complete series Shook and two Simon’s Cat specials courtesy of Endemol Shine will be available for kids ages six and up.

Also among the new videos that will arrive on  YouTube Originals for Kids & Family Channel and YouTube Kids are Sherwood for kids 8 and older, as well as Kings of Atlantis, Fruit Ninja Frenzy Force, and Lockdown for ages five and up.

In addition, YouTube Kids will be featuring evergreen monthly themes including a new Month of Reading, with focus on diversity and inclusion, and read-alongs with Oprah Winfrey, Oscar Award-winning actor Rami Malek, and James Bond actress Michelle Yeoh from StorylineOnline.

YouTube Kids is a safe online space for those 13 and under, with content split into the following:

  • Preschool (4 and under) is designed to allow kids to watch videos that promote creativity, playfulness, learning, and exploration.
  • Younger (5-7) is designed to allow kids to explore their interests and search for a wide variety of topics, including songs, cartoons, crafts, and more.
  • Older (8-12) is designed to allow kids with growing independence to search and explore additional music videos, gaming, family vlogs, science, and more.
