Young ballers join adidas x NBA FIT training camp

adidas Philippines, in partnership with NBA FIT, brings back its focus on the youth through its grassroots program adidas Nation. As one of the biggest basketball nations in Asia, Philippines is an ideal hub for young basketball talents. adidas Nations aims to develop further the rich basketball talent in the country by giving young ballers aged 13 and below an opportunity to participate in a basketball training camp. Since 2007, adidas Nations has been bringing the best in coaching and skills training to challenge the young participants to compete against their peers nationally and globally. adidas Nations provides future basketball stars an intimate basketball skills development experience with NBA coaches and players, helping them to step up their game. The NBA FIT Week is a program of the NBA that highlights the importance of healthy living through three pillars: be active, eat healthy, and play together. Part of the initiatives in the NBA FIT Week is the NBA Fit|adidas Nations Skills Camp, which encourages athletes to be active in their chosen sport. “The kids here in the Philippines are crazy for basketball. A lot of them have potential and we want to give them the opportunity to be trained by some of the best in the sport. Here in adidas, we want only the best for our athletes, and that includes opportunities like these training camps and providing them with products that have the latest in technology and innovation—an example of this would be the Crazylight Boost 2015, which features Primeknit technology for the first time ever in a basketball shoe, along with Boost cushioning. We consider it as our most innovative basketball shoe yet. It’s lightweight which allows our athletes to be quick on their feet,” shared Pat Giron, adidas PH Category Lead for Basketball. NBA champion Brian Shaw and Utah Jazz shooting guard Alec Burks lead the NBA FIT|adidas Nations Skills Camp held at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Mandaluyong. The future basketball stars who participated the camp underwent a series of activities to test and hone their skills.
