You can soon send Instagram DMs on your PC

Instagram for PCs has always been missing one thing: direct messaging. This won’t be the case for long because soon you can view and send DMs through the IG site.

This feature comes in especially handy for businesses and other users who send a lot of DMs. Instagram is still testing the feature with some users, but expect a wide-scale rollout in the future.

“Now, it’s only a small percentage of people for now—we need to make sure it works well— but we hope to bring this to everyone soon,” tweeted Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri.

DMs for the Web works the same way on mobile. You can start chats with someone, create groups, like messages, share photos, and see the number of unread messages. You can even opt to receive notifications on your browser by turning on desktop notifications for IG.

Earlier in the week, Instagram rolled out new Boomerang effects, including SlowMo, Echo, and Duo special effects.
