Pinoy DC fans, rejoice! Almost four months after Wonder Woman 1984 was released in the US, you can finally watch it straight from your TV or mobile screens this month.
HBO GO announced that it is streaming the highly anticipated film starting April 21 (which means you’ve still got time to renew or start your subscription).
Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 1984 is the sequel to the popular 2017 Warner Bros. film Wonder Woman. Gal Gadot returns as the demigoddess Diana Prince with Chris Pine as her resurrected lover, Steve Trevor. Now in the 1980s, the titular superhero takes on a low-key life as a curator of ancient artifacts, enjoying the vibrant era with mortals. But when a magical stone falls into the wrong hands, Diana leaps into action in her superhero suit to save the world from destruction.
The film also stars Kristen Wiig as Diana’s formidable nemesis Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as the new villain Max Lord, Robin Wright as Diana’s aunt Antiope, and Connie Nielsen as Diana’s mother Queen Hippolyta.
Wonder Woman 1984 was first released in US theaters and streaming service HBO Max in December 25, 2020. It was originally slated for July that year but was delayed due to the closure of cinemas prompted by the pandemic.
