What to expect from Disney’s Frozen II

frozen 2

The long-awaited sequel for the Disney hit Frozen is finally here. Queen Elsa, Princess Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven are back for Frozen II and this time, they’re venturing into the unknown.

Frozen II takes place three years after the events of the first movie. Elsa starts hearing a voice no one else hears and her efforts to block it out fails. When it shows her glimpses of the past, the ice queen decides to follow the voice. Meanwhile, the kingdom of Arendelle falls into calamity and Elsa must find a way to save it. This leads her to an enchanted forest where she learns about her past.

Let it Go 2.0?

If there’s something we can look forward to from this Disney movie, it’s the earworm-inducing soundtrack. Let it Go became an instant hit and everyone’s expecting a similar anthem to come out from the sequel.

Indeed, there shall be an anthem as epic as Let it Go and it’s the movie’s featured track, Into the Unknown sung by Queen Elsa herself. Almost every main character gets a song in and that’s something to be excited about.

Lots of laughs

Another thing to watch for in Frozen II are the jokes—mainly from Olaf. Without spoiling too much, the snowman goes into an existential crisis, pondering about aging and growing up. And it’s hilarious because he’s the least likely out of all the characters to age.

There’s also a sequence featuring Kristoff that’s laugh-out-loud funny. Keep your eyes peeled for that. You can tell the filmmakers just had fun with that part a lot.

Breathtaking visuals

Frozen II takes the story outside the fjords of Arendelle, which means audiences will see more of the world in this installment. Also, each moment Elsa uses her powers is a visual spectacle. If there’s something you can count on, it’s that Disney knows how to step up their animation game.

Frozen II stars Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, and Jonathan Groff. This Disney sequel is now showing in cinemas nationwide. Its soundtrack is also available on Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music. Watch the trailer below.
