Disney and Pixar’s upcoming animated film Soul is heading straight to Disney+ this December. The latest trailer for the jazz-focused flick gives us a better glimpse at life in this world.
In Soul, life starts even before you’re born on Earth. It starts in The Great Before, a place where souls get their personalities, quirks, and interests before they get to Earth. Jazz-loving music teacher from New York Joe Gardner finds himself in this vast beyond and he must find his way back with the help of 22, a soul who guides him.
Oscar winner Pete Docter, known for Up, Inside Out, and Monsters, Inc., sits in the director’s chair for Soul. This Disney movie stars Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Graham Norton, Rachel House, Alice Braga, Richard Ayoade, Wes Studi, Fortune Feimster, Zenobia Shroff, Angela Bassett, and Daveed Diggs.
Similar to Mulan, Artemis Foul, and Hamilton, Soul will skip its theatrical release and stream straight to Disney+. Subscribers won’t have to pay extra for the upcoming film, which starts streaming on December 25, unlike the $30 charge for Mulan.
