Washabilities laundry shop empowers individuals with special needs

LG, together with Hopewell Integrated School (HIS) and Bigwash, launched a sustainable livelihood program called HopeWash by opening Washabilities Laundry Shop in Cavite.

HIS is a non-stock non-profit organization in Cavite dedicated to individuals with special needs. HopeWash positions the students and graduates of the organization to be employable and lead functional lives.

To jumpstart the project, LG and Bigwash worked together to get the shop up and running. They took care of the construction and the training of the staff, which consists of HIS alumnus. For the program, LG donated five sets of commercial washers and dryers, one commercial refrigerator, and a 43-inch TV set.

In addition, Unilever gave laundry detergents specially formulated for the washers.

“We are firm believers in HIS’s goal of providing these children a future to look forward to,” remarked LG Managing Director Inkwun Heo. “We want to empower them as much as we are able to. Our intuitive design provides accessibility through straightforward simplicity.”

Washabilities Laundry Shop is now open and ready to serve the laundry needs of Cavite locals. Visit their shop at 135 Remulla Compound Paliparan Road, Molino 4, Bacoor, Cavite.
