After a long hiatus, the Kombi has returned to the Philippines. This time, however, the iconic people carrier is offered in its premium, top-of-the-line form.
The Volkswagen Multivan Kombi packs a 2.0-liter turbo common rail diesel injection (TDI) engine that’s mated to a 7-speed direct shift gearbox with Tiptronic function and coasting feature. The 148hp and 340Nm produced by the 330 TDI engine guarantee adequate power, optimum fuel efficiency, and smooth shifts regardless of the load.
The Multivan Kombi is equipped with LED headlights and taillights, LED daytime running lights, and 17-inch alloy wheels. There’s also a power tailgate fow stowing their luggage more easily, as well as electric dual sliding doors for easier entry and exit of occupants.
Inside, the van features full-grain Nappa leather seats, dual swiveling captain’s seats, a multi-function table, and a three-zone climate control system.
There’s also an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster with active info display, front and rear USB Type-C charging ports, and three 12V sockets.
When it comes to safety, the Kombi is equipped with six airbags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, electronic stability, hill start assist, anti-slip regulation, crosswind assist, cruise control, and park distance control with a reverse camera.
The 2021 Multivan Kombi is priced at P3,595,000 for the monocolor version and P3,640,000 for the bi-color version. It will come in four standard colors: Black Pearlescent, Reflex Silver, Reflex Silver/Starlight Blue Metallic, and Reflex Silver/Fontana Red. Volkswagen Philippines will also offer on order 12 additional colors.
The Volkswagen Multivan Kombi comes with a two-year warranty coverage, two-year spare parts warranty, and a 12-year no-through corrosion—all with unlimited mileage.
