Valve has announced the official release date of Steam Deck. The much-awaited handheld gaming PC will start selling on February 25, the company said in a blog post published on Thursday, January 27.
Valve will be sending out then the first batch of order emails to customers who previously made reservations. They will be given three days to place their orders before the slot is given to the next person in line.
The units will start shipping on February 28, and more confirmation emails will be sent out every week, the company said.
Valve introduced Steam Deck in July 2021 and originally scheduled its rollout in December that year. The video game developer later announced that the scheduled launch will be delayed by two months because of material shortages brought about by global supply chain issues.
The Steam Deck will be shipping in the U.S., UK, Canada, and Europe Union. However, Valve confirmed with PC Gamer that it is planning to make the console available to more countries at a later time. Know more about the device in our report here.
