‘Uncharted’ movie trailer presents Tom Holland as Nathan Drake

Sony Pictures has released the first Uncharted movie trailer, which introduces famed Spider-Man actor Tom Holland as the younger version of treasure hunter Nathan Drake.

Uncharted is based on the 14 year-long action-adventure game series of the same name that Sony Interactive Entertainment developed for PlayStation consoles.

The main series of games follows Drake as he travels across the world to uncover various historical mysteries, while the film chronicles the origin of the character and his newfound bond with his mentor, former Navy US officer Victor “Sully” Sullivan (played by Mark Wahlberg).

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Uncharted also features Sophia Taylor Ali as fellow fortune seeker Chloe Frazer, Tati Gabrielle as new character Braddock and Antonio Banderas who, although unidentified, seems to be the villain.

Many of the scenes in the trailer mirrors Drake’s iconic moments in the game, like the one where he struggles to cling on a cargo plane from Uncharted 3, his underwater exploration in Uncharted 4, and the mention of his older brother Sam, who appeared in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

Sony ended the action-packed clip with a reminder that a remastered bundle of Uncharted 4and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC early next year.

The Uncharted movie is set to premiere exclusively in theaters in the UK on Feb. 11, Australia on Feb. 17, and the US on Feb. 18.
