Toyota Vios gets leveled-up look, features for 2020

Toyota Motor Philippines’ bestselling sedan now wears a fresh new face inspired by the all-new Corolla Altis. Launched over the weekend via a livestream event, the new Toyota Vios swaps the old “grinning” look for a meaner-looking front.

The top-grade G variant comes with high-gloss black accents, 3-tier LED headlights and daytime running lights, 16” alloy wheels, and LED rear combination lamps.

The engine of the new Vios remains the same as the previous version: a 1.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine with 106hp and 140Nm, or a 1.3-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine capable of up to 98hp and 123Nm. These are paired with either a CVT or five-speed manual transmission. The G CVT variant comes with paddle shifters and Eco/Sport driving modes.

High-grade models come with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Weblink connectivity, USB, AUX, and Bluetooth. Also available on the G variants are a digital climate control system and an engine start/stop button.

To give the driver and passengers peace of mind, all variants of the new Vios come with SRS airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist, vehicle stability control, and hill-start assist control. Back-up camera is available on the G variants, and customers may choose from 3 or 7 SRS airbags for certain variants.
