YouTube Music and YouTube Premium are now available in the Philippines, joining the mix of music streaming apps available in the country. While the app offers ad-supported listening for free, those who want uninterrupted playback can opt for the premium version.
With YouTube Music Premium, users can play music in the background as they switch through apps and download songs for offline listening. Moreover, they get a completely ad-free listening, starting at P129 a month.
Those who want to get rid of ads that play before their YouTube videos can subscribe to YouTube Premium. For P159 a month, they get an ad-free viewing experience. Subscribers can also keep their videos playing in the background and download them for offline viewing.
The two new subscriptions come in student and family plans. For the YouTube Family Plan, a total of five family members get the premium experience for P199 a month. For more information, visit bit.ly/YTFamilyPlan.
On the other hand, the student plan is priced at more student-friendly rates. To avail of this, the user must be at least 18 years old, enrolled as a full-time student (undergraduate, graduate, doctorate, etc.) at a college/university where YouTube student memberships are offered. Students can see if they can avail of the plan by typing in their school on SheerID. A user can only be in a student membership for four calendar years. However, these four calendar years do not need to be consecutive. For more information, visit bit.ly/YTStudentMembership.
