Virtual PH

Theme park of the future: Virtual PH at Ayala Malls Feliz

With traditional forms of entertainment becoming oversaturated with the same old content, there is now a clamor for something that will not only satisfy your need for something fresh, but can also give you a uniquely satisfying experience.

Virtual reality, as we’ve predicted last year, is finally creeping into the local scene; and the entry of Virtual PH, the first immersive virtual reality entertainment center in the Philippines, is but one way for Filipinos to take a peek into the future. Recently opened at the Ayala Malls Feliz in Pasig, Virtual PH has a diverse selection of state-of-the-art professional VR equipment and a robust collection of games that promise to bring a captivating VR experience.

Themed VR escape rooms

If you’ve ever tried one of those escape room games found in some malls within Metro Manila, you definitely have to level up at one of Virtual PH’s themed VR escape rooms.

This virtual version of the popular mental and physical game transforms a simple four-cornered room into a unique, boundless, and immersive environment. Powered by top-of-the-line HTC Vive VR headsets and GeForce GTX 1070 TI graphic cards, each escape room delivers an extraordinary sensory experience that will keep players on the edge of their seats.

Virtual PH offers three themed VR escape rooms that can accommodate three to six players per game. Mind Horror combines mystery and horror for those who enjoy a good jumpscare. There is also Crazy Clockwork: Alice in Wonderland Stories, inspired by the beloved children’s novel and is made for kids and the kids at heart. For those who enjoy a futuristic and space-themed adventures, there’s Cosmos.

KAT Walk VR

Another featured activity at Virtual PH is where technology meets reality. The KAT Walk VR is an Omni Directional Treadmill (ODT) that allows you to “physically” be in the game. It is the leading unrestrained infinite space VR system designed and developed by KAT VR, an independent VR hardware and software research and development company based in Hangzhou, China.

KAT WALK VR takes your conventional arcade game but changes the way you play. It lets players move freely in their virtual world while keeping their bodies safe and grounded in reality.

It’s a complete set of VR equipment that includes a specially designed rig with waist and feet sensors that are attached to the player’s body, along with the VR headset and handheld controllers. You walk, run, crouch, and jump in your single or multiplayer shooting, RPG, and horror games—giving you and up to four co-players a full-body experience without the risk of getting hurt.

One of the titles currently available at Virtual PH is Zomday VR, which puts you in a post-apocalyptic world, where you have to fight your way to survive against a horde of undead creatures. (Sounds like a fun experience for fans The Walking Dead, Resident Evil, or The Last of Us!)

Ready, set, play

Aside from KAT WALK and the escape rooms, Virtual PH also offers other immersive VR experiences, such as the VR Karts, VR Motor Racing, Eagle Flight, and Star Twin Seat simulators.

“Virtual reality is helping us modernize how we play traditional games. Here at Virtual PH, we want to incorporate thrill and fun-filled excitement while providing a new and innovative team- building experience,” says Anchesca Ang-Aidasani, co-founder and head of marketing.

“Nowadays, we tend to stay indoors—binge-watching TV series and playing computer games at the confines of our home. With Virtual PH, we’re bringing people out of their houses again to socialize, try new things, and explore the wonders of virtual reality,” says Vijay Aidasani, co-founder and president of Virtual PH.
