Is the newly renovated Metropolitan Theater on your to-visit-soon list? You can now virtually tour and bask in all the beauty of the soon-to-reopen Met.

You don’t have to wait until April or wait for a COVID-19 vaccine to check out this iconic theater. All you have to do is visit Pamana to see 360-degree high-resolution images of the new Met.

Captured by 360VR photographer Fung Yu, the virtual tour gives a glimpse of the Met’s entrance lobby and the main theater, which don Art Deco and Art Nouveau elements.

Inaugurated in 1931, the Metropolitan Theater was destroyed in 1945 during World War II. There were attempts to restore it in the ’70s and 2010, but plans fizzled out. After the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) acquired the Met, restorations resumed for the iconic building in 2015. And finally, the theater is set to reopen this April in celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Victory at Mactan in Cebu.
