Laid out like a shopping street in Japan’s capital city, @Tokyo is a shopping destination featuring a row of trendy, unique, and kawaii stores. Brands under @Tokyo include Accessories Blossom, anello, Casio, Karuizawa Shirts, Legato Largo, Mis Zapatos, Owndays, Seiko, and Waterfront.
The @Tokyo concept started with the vision of its chairman Ivan Yao, who noticed many interesting Japanese brands that were absent from the Philippine market. Together with managing directors Vohne Yao, Marnie Chua, and Roy Chua, they brought the vision to life so that Filipinos can find a taste of Japanese shopping without even leaving the country.
They recently opened their latest branch at the second floor of The Podium mall in Ortigas, where all nine brands can be found. It’s a great place to shop for fun, stylish gifts for your family and friends–and even for yourself.
First, there’s anello, the ubiquitous Japanese brand that makes bags and kuchigane rucksacks in a variety of sizes and styles. anello’s rucksacks are priced between P2,200 to P4,150.
There’s also Legato Largo, sister company of anello, that manufactures bags that have an added feminine touch to them. These stylish, minimalist handbags are made of quality materials and are priced between P1,650 to P3,450.
For men who want to dress up and upgrade their look, there’s Karuizawa Shirts, whose roots stem all the way back to 1940 in a small shirt factory manufacturing simple, white, comfortable shirts. Today, the brand has multiple shirt lines with prices beginning at P2,190.
Spiff up your OOTD with fun finds from Accessories Blossom. The earrings, hair clips, necklaces, and bracelets in this store come in only three prices: P300, P500, and P700. Makes shopping with a budget so much easier!
Another bag brand is Mis Zapatos, which brings a whole new meaning to wearing shoes. Their little retro motif bag is known for its quirky design: two legs in a trouser, a dress, or a skirt, wearing a unique pair of shoes appear in a solid colored background. Mis Zapatos bags are priced between P1,850 to P3,650.
Add color to gloomy, rain days with Waterfront umbrellas. Japan’s number one umbrella brand has a rainbow in their logo, and is a representation of the infinite colors, ideas, and styles of umbrellas they invent–from simple pocket-sized models to creative innovations like an off-centered handle to comfortably fit two people into a single umbrella. You can have a Waterfront umbrella for as low as P595.
One of the biggest Japanese eyewear companies in the world, Owndays offers plenty of frame designs that are updated every two to three weeks. They’re stylish, affordable (starts at P1,990, including lens), and can be your in as fast as 20 minutes after your eyes get checked in-store.
Add style to your wrist with handsome Seiko dress watches or casual timepieces. Or if you prefer reasonably priced but sturdy timepieces, there’s Casio classic analog watches, multi-function digital watches, and G-Shock watches.
@Tokyo is located at the following stores: Uptown Mall, Bonifacio Global City, One Bonifacio, Market! Market!, Estancia in Capitol Commons, and The Podium
