Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch Active earlier this year and the Korean giant is already following the lineup with the Galaxy Watch Active2.
Samsung brings back its trademark rotating bezel to the Watch Active2. This watch, like its predecessor, allows users to enhance their health and wellness in a smarter fashion. The device features a bigger screen and a fresh new look. Compared with the first iteration, the new model has smaller bezels and a more customizable watch face. In addition, the bezel surrounding the watch is a touch-sensitive strip, which allows users to scroll through the UI with a slight touch.
Back in style
Putting a premium on customization, the new smartwatch comes in two sizes (44mm and 40mm diameter), two styles, and a range of interchangeable straps. Users can also swap the watch’s face to match their outfit with Watch Active2’s My Style color extraction algorithm. It works by taking a photo of the outfit on the Galaxy wearable app and choosing the watch face from the different patterns provided.
Fitness coach on the go
As for its fitness capabilities, the new smartwatch features an improved heart rate monitor and accelerometer, ECG capabilities, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and GPS tracking. It’s also the first smartwatch to support real-time coaching with Bixby, Samsung’s virtual assistant.
The Galaxy Watch Active2 comes with LTE connectivity, meaning users can leave their phones when they go for runs. LTE support keeps the watch connected so messages and calls can still come in even without a phone nearby.
The new watch will hit stores in late September. Visit www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/galaxy-watch-active2 to check out the Galaxy Watch Active2’s other specs.
