REVIEW: Sony FDR-X3000 is a great summer companion

Summer’s coming up and we know you’ll want a handy camera that you can take with you on your fun trips.

While most action cameras sport a square form factor, the Sony FDR-X3000 breaks away from the norm with its rectangular-tube body. However, its body isn’t the only notable quality of this camera.

With 4K video capabilities, this action camera is great for capturing different moments. You can rely on the X3000’s Balanced Optical SteadyShot to take away unwanted shakes in videos. Furthermore, weighing at just 114g, this camera fits right in your pocket.

When inside its case, the action camera is waterproof and dust-proof, making it a perfect companion for your next trip. Moreover, you can mount the Sony camera on any tripod you want.

There are two ways to operate the X3000. First, with the LCD at the side of its body. Settings can be easily controlled with the buttons. And next, with the Live View Remote which allows you to watch your videos as you shoot. It can also act as your viewfinder as you take high-quality photos with the action camera.

More accessories come with the X3000. For instance, there’s a watch strap that goes with the Live View Remote. It may look bulky, but when I tried it out, the device isn’t as heavy as I expected it to be. Even under direct sunlight, the remote still gives you a clear picture.

Speed Says

If you’re looking for a new buddy to take with you on your next trip, the Sony FDR-X3000 offers itself as a remarkable option. With 4K videos, video stabilization, high-quality images, and the Live View Remote, you’ll have a blast shooting videos.
