OPPO F5 Youth Enchanted Kingdom 1

#SpeedTesting the new OPPO F5 Youth at Enchanted Kingdom

November 30, holiday—what better way to spend it than at the park with family and friends?

By invitation of OPPO Philippines, Speed got to revisit Enchanted Kingdom amusement park in Sta. Rosa, Laguna for a day of activities and to partially road test the OPPO F5 Youth.

Known as the budget-friendly baby brother of the flagship OPPO F5, the F5 Youth similarly banks on its camera features. A 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture lens and LED flash rests on the rear. Meanwhile a 16MP camera (a slight downgrade from the F5’s 20MP) with f/2.0 aperture and screen flash option sits in front, promising bright, clear selfies.

6-inch 2160 x 1080 FHD+ Full Screen display
ColorOS 3.2 (based on Android 7.1 Nougat)
2.5GHz octa-core MT6763T; ARM Mali G71 MP2 770MHz GPU
32GB internal storage, microSD up to 256GB; 3GB
13MP rear with f/2.2 aperture; 16MP front with f/2.0 aperture
Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, OTG
156.5 x 76 x 7.5mm, 152g

To see just how well these cameras do, here are some photos taken using the F5 Youth under default settings—no filter, no edits except for cropping:

It was a rather gloomy afternoon at the park, but that’s not a problem for the F5 Youth’s camera as it still managed to take clear photos.

Check out the details on those clouds!

Colors and details come out vibrant when taken using the 13MP rear camera.

Under ample lighting, the camera is also very quick to focus. The ride was moving when we took a photo of it. It’s quite impressive how the F5 Youth’s camera produced only minimal blur.

The panoramic feature is also very clear and crisp.

Shooting against the light is also not a problem; the F5 Youth still manages to capture details in a low-lit environment.

The park is definitely a haven for night-time photography what with all its colorful lights. Without adjusting any settings and relying solely on the tap-to-focus feature of the F5 Youth’s camera, the photos produced looked simply stunning.

Even on max zoom and difficult lighting situations, photos can still come out pretty clear on the F5 Youth.

Speed says

When you’re too busy having fun, you wouldn’t have time to think about composition, camera settings, and such. You just want to capture something as a souvenir of your beautiful experience. For that particular task, the OPPO F5 Youth is a pretty reliable partner as it is quick to focus and captures colors and details beautifully.
