Pokémon announced another game this week and this time, it’s a 5v5 strategy game called Pokémon Unite. This MOBA game is being developed together with Tencent’s TiMi Studios, the makers of Call of Duty: Mobile and PUBG Mobile.
Gameplay will pit two teams of five players each against one another like in DOTA, League of Legends, and Mobile Legends. But instead of heroes or champions, you’ll play as Pokémon, which can evolve and gain new abilities as you progress. Unlike other Pokémon games, however, the little pocket monsters won’t have type advantages in this upcoming title.
The game will be playable on the Nintendo Switch, and iOS and Android devices, with multiplayer crossplay available. You’ll be able to play against your friends regardless of whatever device they’re playing on.
The company has yet to determine the launch date of Pokémon Unite.
