To remain efficient in disseminating information, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) enhances its capabilities with G Suite. Providing this office productivity tool to PIA is digital services provider and local cloud computing pioneer IPC (IP Converge Data Service, Inc.).
As the agency promotes and circulates government efforts, its employees deal with materials that take up storage space. These files including photos and videos consume email and storage space.
According to David R. de Leon, IPC Chief Operating Officer, PIA’s decision to embrace digital tools supports their mandate and advocacy. “IPC is proud to support the PIA in their ongoing efforts to keep the public well-informed and empowered. We laud the agency for embracing today’s technology to better serve the public.”
Increasing productivity with G Suite
Long-time Google Cloud Partner IPC has the expertise to deploy Google services like G Suite to organizations. Since PIA tapped IPC for G Suite, PIA employees now have 30GB storage plus unlimited Google Drive storage.
However, G Suite offers more than just file storage. This workplace productivity tool also offers video and voice conferencing, chat messaging, sheets and slides, basic website development and hosting, as well as calendars and notes.
“Our Director-General has been heralding to use digital communications and technology as tools to reach out to grassroots and far-flung barangays and capitalize on the advent of social media, and G Suite has helped us achieve this,” said Buena de Guzman, Officer-in-Charge of PIA’s Communications Group. “Additionally, its feature of seamless collaboration is a great help to ensure quality in our releases.”
PIA also states that G Suite added a sense of legitimacy and professionalism within the workforce. Gone are the days employees had to use their personal accounts for their jobs. But now with their business emails, employees have an increased sense of credibility and pride to represent PIA.
