Panasonic nanoe X tech inhibits coronavirus, improves indoor air quality

nanoe X inhibited over 99.99% of SARS-CoV-2 activity within two hours.

While we treat our homes as the safest place we can be in during these challenging times, now more than ever is the time we should pay closer attention to the air quality in our residences. This is why more and more people are looking for ways to keep the air in their home clean and fresh 24/7.

In a recent online event dubbed A.C.T. Now (Anti-Covid-19 Technology), Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corporation (PMPC) announced that global contract research organization Texcell has verified the inhibitory effect of the nanoe X air cleaning technology on the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).

Panasonic has been conducting research on this technology since 1997. Studies have shown that nanoe X inhibits the growth of certain pollutants such as allergens, bacteria, viruses, molds, odors, and certain hazardous substances, by breaking them down and inhibiting their unpleasant effects.

Testing with Texcell has confirmed that nanoe X does have an inhibitory effect on the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). This testing was carried out in a closed laboratory environment and was not designed to assess its efficacy in uncontrolled living spaces.

What is nanoe X?

nanoe X technology, the original ionizer to generate “nano-sized atomized water particles,” was developed by Panasonic Corporation. This electrostatic atomization technology collects invisible moisture in the air and applies high voltage to it to produce hydroxyl radicals contained in water.

The decisive factor is the existence of hydroxyl radicals inside nanoe X. Hydroxyl radicals are characterized by being strongly oxidative and highly reactive.

Hydroxyl radicals contained in water have a longer life span. This enhances its ability to attach onto viruses, taking away hydrogen (H) from proteins that neutralizes viruses. In the Texcell report, it was verified that a nanoe X device used in a 45-liter enclosed box effectively inhibited novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) in two hours.

Panasonic air conditioners and other Panasonic appliances equipped with nanoe X contain about 4.8 trillion per second hydroxyl radicals. Thanks to the huge quantity of hydroxyl radicals contained in water, nanoe X can inhibit surface-level pollutants by penetrating deep into fabric materials and inhibiting pathogenic microorganism such as bacteria and viruses, mold, allergen, pollen, and hazardous substances.

According to Panasonic, they will continue to pursue the potential of nanoe X technology to address possible risks associated with air pollution such as new pathogenic microorganisms, with the aim of creating healthy environments for people around the world.
