Oro Plato Masa nationwide culinary competition launches
The Oro Plato Masa nationwide culinary competition was officially launched by SM Supermalls. This was made in cooperation with the Department of Education (DepEd) and Department of Tourism (DOT). The launch happened at the Golden Phoenix Hotel in Manila, the official hotel for the competition.
Initiated by DTC Promos Inc. President & COO Marissa Dames, the Oro Plato Masa contest is open to all Filipino students who are at least 16 years old by September 1, 2019. The participants must currently be enrolled in a cooking course/program of any school recognized by the Philippine government.
Qualified students must form a team of two members. They should also be from the same school or program. Once the group is formed, the team must fill out the entry form that can be downloaded from the Oro, Plato, Masa Facebook page or from the DTC Promos website (dtcpromos.com.ph). Participating teams must submit three (3) original Ulam (Savory) recipes & three (3) original Minatamis (Sweet) recipes to the Oro, Plato, Masa Facebook page. The competition organizers will screen the recipes beforehand to see if they meet the requirement of their respective categories.
Deadline for submission of entries is on January 15, 2020. There will be 18 teams to qualify, which will be announced on the competition’s Facebook page on January 30, 2020.
SM Supermalls will host the Grand Finals on February 22, 2020 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. The grand winners win Lenovo laptops, kitchen equipment and products from Unilever Food Solutions (UFS), Masflex, Oleo Fats, and Sonlie.
The Oro Plato Masa nationwide culinary competition is also co-presented by Manila Bulletin, Metro Channel, Business Mirror, Unilever Food Solutions (UFS), Lenovo, and Masflex. it is also supported by Cook Magazine, Health & Fitness, Pilipino Mirror, DWIZ, 97.9 Home Radio, Philippines Graphic, UNOX, All About Baking, and Kitchen Aid.
