Lenovo Smart Clock

Wake up, wind down with the Lenovo Smart Clock

Las Vegas, Nevada–How many times have you lost sleep because you got distracted by your phone’s notifications? When was the last time you went to bed uninterrupted by the glow of your smartphone screen?

Lenovo wants to cut down on disruptive screen time throughout the evening and help improve your sleep hygiene so it created the Lenovo Smart Clock with Google Assistant, a small and unobtrusive device you can place on your nightstand.

This thing won’t play videos, display pictures, or show you results on its 4-inch screen when you ask it something. Instead, what it does is wake you up gradually, suggest alarms based on the agenda on your calendar, read you the news, play you calming music before you go to bed, and help you set up Good Morning and Good Night routines easily.

Sleep well, wake up refreshed

Do you like sleeping with all your bedroom lights off save for one? Do you like listening to calming music or guided meditation before hitting the sack? You can set up a night routine so that the Lenovo Smart Clock knows to do all these things by saying a single phrase like, “Good night, Google.”

Thirty minutes before an alarm, the screen on the Smart Clock will begin to gradually brighten in an attempt to gently wake you up. Once the alarm goes off, you can snooze it or dismiss it with a tap or voice command. Once you dismiss your alarm, Google Assistant can start your “Good Morning” routine (customizable grouped commands within Google Assistant) by executing several actions with just a single command.

So for example, you can set up the Smart Clock to wake you up, turn on the lights, check the weather, read the news, check traffic on your way to work, turn on a compatible smart coffeemaker, and tell you about your day’s schedule by simply saying, “Good morning, Google.”

The Lenovo Smart Clock comes with a full-range 6W speaker and two passive radiators tuned with Dolby’s latest background noise reduction technology,

It will be available at $79.99 starting spring 2019.
