St. Luke’s QC receives AABB accreditation
For the third consecutive time, St. Luke’s Medical Center QC receives accreditation from the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). Specifically, the Institute of Pathology Cellular Immunology and Molecular Pathology Section was certified for Relationship Testing.
Before receiving the authorization, the institutes underwent on-site assessment last December 6 and 7, 2018.
This solidifies St. Luke’s QC as the only hospital with an AABB-accredited facility in the country and in Southeast Asia.
The AABB Accreditation program endorses quality care for patients, donors, and products in all aspects. For instance, these include transfusion medicine, cellular therapies, transplantation, and relationship testing.
Known for complete laboratory services and top-of-the-line equipment, St. Luke’s Institute of Pathology is composed of highly competent pathologists, medical technologists, and technicians. Certainly, these practitioners ably assist clinicians and other healthcare providers in the diagnosis, treatment, and prognostication of diseases.
