Logitech introduces LoL bootcamp at PGF 2019
Logitech G gets its League of Legends game on at the Pinoy Gaming Festival: Summer Assembly 2019 last April 26.
At the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall, Coach Benson and Zoraion headed a bootcamp for the gamers. Among the players, only 20 players were drafted for the LoL semifinals.
Then, 10 players battled it out for the coveted bragging rights of winning the first-ever Logitech G Bootcamp. Coach Zoraion’s Team Blue came out on top while Coach Benson’s Team Red bagged 2nd place.
Team Blue’s Richard Anderson, Patrick Medula, Jomel Buyan, John Carl, and Jason Aleon each took home a G413 Carbon Mechanical Backlit Gaming Keyboard. Made of a lightweight, aircraft-grade 5052 aluminum alloy, this gadget also boasts the Romer-G™ Tactile mechanical switch which enhances performance.
Furthermore, Team Red’s Gian Alejandro, Josh Alanante, Eduardo de Paz Jr., Kenneth Alejo, and Kim Califlores received the G233 Prodigy Gaming Headset.
A gamer’s mom
This year’s esports event saw a rare sighting – one gamer brought his mom and his entire family to cheer him on.
Team Red finalist Alejandro’s mom Emma Alejandro cheered on her youngest son for moving to the next round of the bootcamp.
This mom also shared her experience in raising a gamer. “Gaming brings joy to him. But it also trains him to improve your decision-making, reflexes, among others,” she said. “It can also contribute to his academic activities as it hones his problem-solving skills. Since it is usually a group game, he can even enhance his leadership skills.”
She also added her hopes for her son to get into streaming his games.
“I will really encourage him to pursue his next goal. I will support him to improve his confidence, personality, and abilities. For me, academics is not the only important thing in life. My son’s gaming interests matter, too,” she remarked.
