Apple iPhone Xs, Xs Max officially unveiled
The iPhone X redefined smartphone design when it introduced the notch last year, so it’s little surprise that its successors didn’t veer too far away from the X’s design language.
The new Apple iPhone Xs and Xs Max are almost identical devices except for the size. The Xs has a 5.8-inch screen, while the Xs Max has 6.5-inch display. Both have Super Retina OLED displays, 120Hz touch sensing, True Tone, 3D Touch, Tap to Wake, and support for Dolby Vision HDR 10.
They’re both equipped with iOS 12 and Apple’s new A12 Bionic chipset, the first 7-nanometer chip in a smartphone. In addition, they get faster Face ID, wider stereo sound, and Dual SIM Dual-Standby (finally!).
The dual 12-megapixel camera system at the back features dual optical image stabilization with 2x optical zoom, but the wide angle camera now uses a new sensor with larger pixels, and the telephoto includes a wider aperture.
The iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max come in space gray, silver, and a new gold finish. Available storage options are 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB, with prices starting at $999 for the iPhone Xs 64GB and $1,099 for iPhone Xs Max 64GB.
Customers can pre-order the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max beginning September 14, with availability beginning September 21, in more than 30 countries and territories including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Japan, Jersey, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the UAE, UK, US and US Virgin Islands.
