New iPhone 12 rumors: 120Hz ProMotion display, improved Face ID

So far, we know that the next-generation iPhone 12 Pro will sport a new look, 5G support, and a LiDAR scanner. New leaks from Apple leakers say that the phone will boast a 120Hz ProMotion display, improved Face ID, improved low-light photography, and bigger battery life.

If rumors from EverythingApplePro and leaker Max Weinbach turn out to be accurate, the iPhone 12 Pro will be the first to sport a ProMotion display, which was first seen on the iPad Pro. Moreover, the device is said to have the capability to switch between 60Hz and 120Hz refresh rates.

To back up the increased power consumption of the high-refresh rate display, the iPhone 12 might have a bigger battery. According to Weinbach, the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max could have a 4,400mAh battery. This will be a big upgrade over the current 3,969mAh battery life on the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Other previous reports say the next iPhone will have a smaller notch. It will house the sensor for Face ID, which will have a wider angle of view so the phone can be unlocked from more angles.

For camera performance, leaks say the iPhone 12 Pro will have improved low-light photography with quicker autofocus. Furthermore, the telephoto zoom lens is reportedly increasing to a 3x optical zoom.
