Philippine automotive journalism lost one of its most well-loved members, Earl Manalansan, today, April 7. He passed away from complications related to COVID-19.
Earl was a regular Speed contributor who wrote numerous motoring features and car reviews for the magazine and the Speed website.
Jovial, warm, and always wearing his megawatt smile, Earl was known throughout the industry for his “mandatory selfies” at every event he covered.

Earl, a self-confessed car enthusiast, was also managing editor of Autocar Philippines, motorcycle editor of Wheels Philippines, and associate editor or RideStylePH magazine. He also founded his own lifestyle page, StreetTalkPH.

Speed has been blessed and fortunate to have Earl as part of the team. We share this great loss with his family and friends.
We will miss you, Earl. Thank you for your genuine friendship. Ride in paradise!
