The wickedly good duo of Monster’s Inc. is back to surprise kids (and kids at heart) with another round of funny adventures in the film’s TV spinoff, Monsters at Work.

The series is a sequel to the 2001 film created and directed by Pete Docter, produced by Pixar, and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures.

It will take place the day after furry blue monster Sully (voiced by John Goodman) and one-eyed green orb Mike Wazowski (voiced by Billy Crystal) began using the laughter of children as a power source to keep the city of Monstropolis thriving.

Monsters at Work will also introduce a young boogeyman named Tylor Tuskmon (voiced by Ben Feldman), who, after graduating top of his class at the Monster University, applied to be a Scarer at Monster’s Inc. The comedy continues as he discovers that in his dream job, “scaring is [already] out and laughter is in,” according to the series’ official synopsis.

Joining Sully and Mike once again are Mike’s girlfriend Celia (Jennifer Tilly), the lonely Yeti (John Ratzenberger), and Roz (Bob Peterson). Roz will also get a twin sister, Roze.

Monsters at Work’s premiere was originally slated for 2020 but production slowed down because of the pandemic. Its release was eventually pushed back to July 2, 2021 (marking the film’s 20th anniversary) on Disney+.
