Maxus is set to unveil a new nameplate by the third quarter of this year.
The Ayala-owned importer and distributor of British-bred commercial vehicles in the country is adding the Maxus G50 compact MPV to its roster of light commercial vehicles.
First launched in China back in 2018, the new MPV will slot below the G10 MPV. It will come in eye-catching colors, such as the Roland Purple pictured here. According to Maxus, the G50 is designed to capture the fancy of young families and upwardly mobile professionals.
There’s no word yet on the specifics of the G50, but in China the MPV gets two turbocharged engine options. One is a 1.3-liter mill mated to a six-speed manual and the other is a 1.5-liter turbo with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
