Alongside its new 8K Ultra HD TVs, LG Electronics is introducing a new lineup of premium soundbars at CES 2020.
Made with Meridian Audio, the 2020 range delivers rich, true-to-life sound featuring the company’s technologies such as Image Elevation and Bass and Space. It also supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for dynamic and immersive audio. New for LG premium soundbars is AI Room Calibration, which guarantees optimized sound tailored to the specific characteristics of the room. This enables the models to recognize and analyze tones to accurately assess the dimensions of a space and adjust accordingly.
When playing content mastered with Dolby Atmos or DTS:X, the soundbars play realistic surround sound coming from multiple directions. In addition, the models have an advanced processing algorithm, which upscales conventional file formats to near-studio quality.
The new soundbars offer 4K Pass-Through and optional SPK8 Wireless Rear Speaker Kit for a more cinema-like experience. They also have Google Assistant built-in so users can control compatible smart home devices from their LG soundbar.
Connectivity also comes easier for the new models with the addition of enhanced audio return channel (eARC). Through this, users can plug external devices directly into their eARC copatible TVs to enjoy three-dimensional sound of high-resolution audio formats.
Among the new range of soundbars, two are CES innovation Award winners. Premium models SN9YG and SN11RG are recognized for their enhanced audio quality and usability. Meanwhile, the SN11RG is a 7.1.4-channel system complete with two wireless rear speakers delivering multi-directional sound. The speakers also sport a sleek, stylish design to match LG’s minimalistic 55- and 65-inch TVs.
