Lenovo ThinkBook 13s: Workhorse winner

Lenovo ThinkBook 13s

Combining elements from the ThinkPad and IdeaPad lineups, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13s is both highly functional and extremely sleek. It caters to business folks who take their work home or on-the-go.

The ThinkBook 13s looks premium and sturdy with its all-aluminum chassis. The power button doubles as a fingerprint scanner, which is very convenient as it makes unlocking the laptop easy. The trackpad is pretty sizable and the keys have big spaces in between.I find the keys too big for my taste, but that’s just me.

Like most of Lenovo’s slim laptops, this machine’s screen folds out to 180 degrees. Even when laying flat, there’s no glare from the display. And speaking of screen, it’s pretty vibrant and sharp.

The 13-inch display seems small for the demands it’s trying to cater to. The bezels on the side are slim, but the chin is quite noticeable. Lenovo could have made the bezel below slimmer to give way to a slightly bigger screen real estate. Meanwhile, the top bezel houses the webcam with privacy shutter, which is a plus for security.

Lenovo packs this device with a full-sized HDMI port. I connected the ThinkBook 13s to a monitor and multitasking was easy as pie. Unlike other slimmer machines, this one doesn’t need a dongle or adapter for connectivity. In addition, the laptop carries classic USB type A ports, making transferring files easier.

This laptop can handle tasks from basic number-crunching, writing, and even simple photo and video editing. I used it for a day’s work and I only needed to charge it once around the eighth hour mark. Plus, it gets back to 100% pretty quick.Lenovo laptop

This laptop wasn’t just built for business; it can handle a bit of leisure, too. I was surprised with the speakers on this bad boy. I honestly didn’t think it would be as good as it was. Those who like playing music while they work will enjoy this feature.
