Huawei Band 4e review: Pint-sized motivator

Huawei Band 4e

The Huawei Band 4e packs some amazing performance trackers that are sure to motivate you to reach your personal fitness goals and have a more active lifestyle.

Unlike its more colorful cousin the Huawei Band 4, the Band 4e doesn’t limit itself as a wrist-worn device. The fitness band is composed of a wrist strap and a detachable main unit; the latter can be placed in a buckle that you can latch on to y our footwear. This will activate the device’s foot performance-tracking functionality.

The Huawei Band 4e hosts more than a handful of features to help you monitor how well (or badly!) you’re doing in achieving their fitness goals. It features the default tools of a fitness band: step-counter, distance tracker, and calorie tracker, as well as a neat sleep tracking function. All of these data can be viewed in detail via the Huawei Health App.

There are also a few hidden tricks that activate when the band is used in conjunction with the buckle. The de vice tracks metrics such as hang time, ground contact time, and landing impact among others, so it’s not just runners and basketball players who can benefit from it, but also those who are into sports like volleyball and martial arts.

Overall build is good; it looks like it can take a beating or two. The screen is scratch-resistant, the PET wrist strap is tightly knit, and the accessories are highly durable. Battery life is awesome as it can last for around two weeks with regular use. When it’s time to get charged, it will only take around two hours to get to 100%. This fitness tracker also has good waterproofing, so you can do your high-intensity and sweaty training without worrying about damaging the Huawei Band 4e.
