Excited for the opening of the world’s biggest IKEA store on November 25? Before you head out with your shopping face on, there are some things you need to remember.

First, you must secure a shopping slot through IKEA’s official website. According to the Swedish furniture maker, this is to ensure the safety of customers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Due to the COVID-19 situation, we want to make sure your safety is our priority. To avoid crowds during the opening, we will invite people to the store with pre-booked slots,” IKEA said.

On the online booking page, pick a date and select your time schedule from morning, afternoon, and evening—from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. in 30 minute intervals. You will also need to select how many of you will be going under your booking. You can only select up to three persons (including yourself) per booking.

Double check your booking details and confirm to proceed. You will be asked to encode your mobile number, where your one-time password (OTP) will be sent. You will also be asked to enter your full name and email address. Click Sign Up, then wait for both email and text confirmations. You will be issued a QR code that you need to present to enter the store on your confirmed scheduled date and time.

Consumers are also encouraged to observe its COVID-19 safety protocol when visiting the store, which includes:

  • Social distancing
  • Wearing of face masks in-store
  • Limiting the number of customers inside the store
  • Planning ahead and using contactless payment

StaySafe.ph contact tracing application is also required upon entry, so make sure the app is installed on your phone before you visit the store.

Meanwhile, those who are not keen on going out can shop on IKEA’s online store.
