Here’s what malling at SM looks like in the new normal

Now that social distancing becomes part of the new normal, going out to the mall isn’t quite the same as it was before. SM Supermalls gives a glimpse of how shopping and dining at malls will look like in this new era. Take a look at all the measures it is taking to ensure everyone’s safety while in the malls.

At the entrances, there are disinfectant mats, automatic hand sanitizers, and a thermal scanner. Shoppers can also find a QR code for a contact tracing program as they enter.

All over the mall, there are social distancing markers to remind visitors to keep a safe distance from others. SAM, SM’s robot assistant, is also placed around the mall for people who have queries.

Escalator handles are one of high-touch surfaces in malls. To prevent the spread of the virus, SM has installed UV Care sterilizers to disinfect the handles.

The mall is also minimizing human contact as much as possible with contactless payment options, touch-free menus you can scan with QR codes, and shield protection at counters.

In addition, people who don’t want to go inside the malls can opt for roadside pickup of their orders.

SM also implements deep cleaning during reduced mall off-hours to keep the malls sanitized.
