“Once you overcome the one inch-tall barrier of subtitles, you will be introduced to so many more amazing films,” said director Bong Joon-ho as he received the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language film for his 2019 hit Parasite.
The Globe is just one of the Korean horror flick’s many awards. Now, the critically acclaimed film is getting turned into a limited series by HBO.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bong will be working on the show with Adam McKay, who is best known for Succession.
The series is still in its early development stages, but THR states that it will be in English. Quite ironic, eh?
Parasite follows the story of the poverty-stricken Kim family and their wealthy employers, the Park family. The two clans form a symbiotic relationship and after a few events, everything ends up having deadly consequences.
Many entertainment news sites also see the Korean thriller bagging an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture.
