Marvel has unwrapped the first trailer of Hawkeye, teasing the whimsical yet action-packed Christmas adventure of Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) and his new successor, Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld).

The eight-episode series takes off after the events of Avengers: Endgame, where Clint’s family is brought back to life after they were turned into dust with Thanos’ catastrophic snap in Avengers: Infinity War. With things back to normal, Clint just wants to spend the holidays in New York City with his family merrily — just like they used to.

As The Verge notes, things began turning sideways when news broke about a vigilante wielding a bow and wearing what looks a lot like Clint’s old Ronin suit starts running around the city.

To recap, Clint morphed into the emo-ish murderous vigilante, called Ronin, when his family was wiped out of the universe in Infinity War.

The trailer (below) shows that this time, the mysterious duelist is Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop, who proudly tells Hawkeye that she’s the “world’s greatest archer.”

Similar to the comics, the series tells the story of the two toxophilites, as Clint trains the young Avenger to take over his role as Hawkeye.

According to a report by Engadget, the trailer has a few nods to other parts of the MCU, including the existence of a Broadway musical about Steve Rogers (aka Captain America) and a tip of the cap toward another “masked vigilante” the titular character battled in Avengers: Endgame

Hawkeye will premiere on November 24 on Disney+.
