GoT showrunners to head upcoming Star Wars trilogy

The ending of the Game of Thrones tv series is almost here, and showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss already have a new project in line. Disney CEO Bob Iger confirms that the duo will be working on the upcoming Star Wars trilogy.

Since 2015, we have followed the steps of Rey, Poe Dameron, Finn, and Kylo Ren. This 2019, their story will be coming to a close in Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker. Watch the trailer below.

After this, the series will be taking a hiatus until 2022 wherein a new trilogy will be introduced.

With D&D on the helm, will the new trilogy film get the GoT treatment?

Even while the series is on hiatus, we’ll be getting spin-offs including one called The Mandalorian and a story on Cassian Andor. These will be airing on the upcoming Disney+ streaming platform.
