In the efforts to make information about COVID-19 more accessible, Google has launched a dedicated site for the virus.
The website, at google.com/covid19, provides resources from state-based information, safety and prevention tips, search trends, and more. According to a blog post, this new site provides a “more comprehensive experience for COVID-19 in Search.” It also pulls data from sources like the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Another feature the search engine giant introduced is to surface some of the most common questions about the pandemic. The site also lists modules with statistics and a map showing the spread of the virus in countries around the world.
Aside from prevention tips, the dedicated site provides a link to the company’s efforts in combatting COVID-19. The site reports that Google.org is committing $50 million to global COVID-19 response.
Hopefully, one day, the site will also provide information about local testing locations.
