Google commits to using recycled materials in all products by 2020
Tech giant Google has announced that all “Made by Google” products will be made with recycled materials by 2022. This includes devices such as Pixel smartphones, Home speakers, Nest, accessories and more.
According to an interview with Fast Company, Google has already started incorporating recycled plastic in Chromecast devices. Plastic bottles have also been used in Home fabrics and cases.
Another action the tech company is taking is pledging to make all its shipments carbon neutral by 2020.
This earth-friendly initiative also extends to users. The tech giant offers a recycling partnership program wherein people can send Google devices they no longer use. Currently, this is only available in the US.
