Globe Esports Center in QC open until March 24

Experience world-class esports at the Globe Esports Center pop-up in Quezon City.

After the recent unveiling of Team Liyab as its official professional esports team, Globe Telecom, in partnership with Mineski, brings world-class esports experience closer to local gaming communities. The first Esports Center (ESC) was opened on March 9 at Play Nation in UP Town Center, Quezon City. This pop-up venue is part of Globe’s ongoing Games and Esports program. It aims to support the growing gaming community in the country, and boost Filipino esports athletes to the global stage.

Globe Esports Center Stage

Globe SVP and Head for Content Business Group Nikko Acosta reveals what the ESC is all about.“The ESC is an experience hub in which Filipino gamers and gaming enthusiasts can participate in competition, creation of live streaming content, and interaction with other members of different esports communities.”

Acosta also added that one of the goals of Globe Games and Esports is to strengthen the grassroots level of esports in the country. In cooperation with various fan communities, the project hopes to build camaraderie between gamers and enthusiasts alike.

Globe ESC Gaming Area

“We want to bring together different communities of popular games like Arena of Valor (AOV), Rules of Survival (ROS), League of Legends (LOL), and Tekken, among others, in one venue to upgrade their knowledge and gauge their skill levels with others through peer learning of new strategies and techniques.”

#PlayItRight

Acosta also reiterated the role of the company’s advocacy campaign, #PlayItRight in esports. This emphasizes the importance of discipline, nutrition, physical wellness and cognitive development in esports.

Globe ESC Mobile Arena

“We are positioning esports as a real sport, to make a gamer into a real athlete harnessing both physical and mental attributes by playing it right,” he said. Globe expanded their #PlayItRight advocacy into esports since the recent launch of Team Liyab.

For the launch, Globe invited leading local esports personalities to announce the milestone event. Renowned streamers such as Rikki “Riku” Quiapon and Theo “Arctikuno” Rodriguez were among the special guests present at the venue. They also served as hosts for the event.

Globe ESC The Studio

The ESC offers unique and exclusive activities consisting of mini-tournaments, gameplay, fan meet-ups, and meet & greets with Team Liyab. The arena will be open to the public from March 9 to 24. It is located inside Play Nation on the 2nd Floor, Phase 1 of UP Town Center in Katipunan, Quezon City
