After its global debut at the Frankfurt international Motor Show last year, the 4th-generation Kia Sportage is finally made available to the Philippine market. Boasting of the latest features and technological advancements, the compact SUV is offered in three variants: the EX 2WD, EX AWD, and the GT Line AWD. All the variants of the 2016 Kia Sportage also come equipped with the R 2.0L in-line 4 e-VGT CRDi DOCH Euro 4 Diesel engine, which is said to improve the car’s overall quality in fuel efficiency, response, emissions, and noise/vibration/harness (NVH). Kia provided the all-new Sportage a makeover, too, as clearly seen in the higher headlamps, sharper detailed bonnets, and lower and wider grill, complimented by circular DRLs and fog lamps with chrome aeroblades, LED rear combination lamps, and the horizontal chrome bar. Aerodynamic developments to enhance drive performance have been applied to the Sportage with the newly designed bumper, coupe-like roof, rear underbody diffuser, and rear spoiler side garnish. Inside the Sportage, you will see the wider, driver-oriented dashboard. The dashboard has a lateral design that divides the cockpit into two clear zones: the Display Zone, which puts a primer on information via its instrument binnacle, infotainment, and human interface systems, and the Control Zone, which is accessible when the Sportage in on the move. Soft-touch materials are found inside the all-new Sportage’s cabin. The increased headroom, legroom, cargo space (from 465 to 503 liters) makes this compact SUV an ideal companion for off-road trips and out-of-town vacations. The Kia Sportage’s GT Line edition comes with additional features like the chrome moldings on the radiator grille, an aeroblade tail, window surround moldings, “ice-cube” LED fog lamps, aluminum skid plates, dual exhaust, and 19-inch alloy wheels. A polished D-shaped leather steering wheel, high quality piano black fascia, aluminum alloy pedals, and paddle shifters are also featured in the Sportage GT Line. Prices of the variants and dealership availability of the all-new Kia Sportage will be announced soon.
