The instax mini Link lets you print photos from your phone

Printing photos from your smartphone easier and more fun with the instax mini Link, Fujifilm’s latest instant photo printer. The new Link, which won the Good Design Award 2019, brings all the features of the instax Series in a compact and lightweight design combined with simple yet intuitive operability.

The instax mini Link creates high-quality instax prints of pictures saved in your phone’s Gallery/Camera Roll. All you need is to open the Bluetooth connection on your phone and launch the instax mini Link app (free to download on Android and iOS). In the app, you can make simple adjustments on the photo–such as resizing, rotating, applying filters, adjusting brightness–before printing it out.

Aside from printing photos directly from your smartphone, the app also offers a variety of additional functions that users can enjoy. Here are the functions you can try:

Video print. This feature allows you to scroll through video frames left to right, and choose a decisive part from the clip. Once you’ve chosen a moment, click the Extract button to turn that into a still image. You can now print that selected frame into an instax photo.

Match Test. This function tests your compatibility with a friend or a special someone. The level of compatibility, in percentage, is printed along with the photo on the film. There are two kinds of test: the (1)Quick Diagnosis mode, which check the compatibility of people shown in randomly selected pictures; and the (2)Precision Diagnosis mode, which involves answering five randomly selected questions out of the 30 available in the app, in addition to  taking a photo of the two people being checked for compatibility.

Party Print. This mode allows up to five people to connect their smartphone to the app. The app can receive a picture from each connected device, compile the images, and print them on a single instax film. There’s also a Surprise Mode, where no one knows what images will be included in the final print until it’s there.

Frames. The app also offers different frame designs that you can apply to your photo before printing.

Collage. You can combine up to eight pictures into one image is a collage layout.

Split Print. Split an image into two pictures in order to create two instax prints.

You can also use the link as a remote control when taking photos on your smartphone from the dedicated app. From the instax mini Link, you can zoom in by facing down the side of the power button at the center, zoom up by facing up, and release the shutter by pressing the power button.

In addition, the instax mini Link can also receive pictures from Fujifilms digital camera app via the Fujifilm Camera Remote app to produce instax prints.

The instax mini Link retails for P6,999, and is available starting October 4, 2019 on a market-by-market basis. This photo printer uses fujifilm’s instax mini instant film, which is sold separately. The Link comes in three colors: Dusky Pink, Ash White, and Dark Denim.
