Ford makes some noise with the Mustang Shelby GT500

The most extreme Mustang has muscled its way into local Ford showrooms.

A modern take on its iconic predecessors, the top-of-the-line Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 features a restyled front end with aggressive-looking bodykit, a not-so-subtle rear spoiler, wider fenders, and racing stripes on the hood. The Mustang’s galloping horse logo is replaced with the signature Shelby snake emblem.

This performance car is equipped with a Magneride damping system dampers, Brembo brake kit, a 3.73 Torsen limited-slip rear differential, and large Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

Inside, the Mustang Shelby GT500 comes with a rotary gear shift dial, Recaro leather-trimmed with Miko Suede Seats, leather and Alcantara wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters, Ford Performance Aluminum Scuff plates, a dual-zone climate control system, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, and an 8-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity.

At the heart of the GT500 is a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that generates 760hp and 847Nm of torque, mated to a seven-speed Tremec dual-clutch gearbox.

The new Mustang Shelby GT500 comes in 11 striking colors: Antimatter Blue, Carbonized Gray, Grabber Yellow, Oxford White, Shadow Black, Velocity Blue, Race Red, Twister Orange, Iconic Silver, Rapid Red, and Performance Blue.

It’s now available at all Ford dealerships nationwide with a starting retail price of P7,760,000 and an additional P15,000 for the Twister Orange paint job.
