Sony Master Series A9G: Everything you need to know
Sony recently announced the newest additions to its Bravia Master Series TV lineup. Leading the pack is the flagship Master Series A9G 4K OLED television, which carries Sony’s next-generation Picture Processor X1 Ultimate.
The Master Series is the brand’s flagship television range; which displays images that “faithfully convey the creators’ intent.” According to Sony, this means that the quality, color, contrasts, and clarity of the picture on these Sony TVs are almost at the level of a professional-grade monitor used by TV and movie directors and producers.
We spent quite some time with the new Master Series A9G during its Southeast Asia Regional launch last March 7 at Suntec City Convention in Singapore. These are the things we learned about this supersized television:
It boasts next-gen processor
This new model boasts the net-gen Picture Processor X1 Ultimate, which was first introduced in the inaugural Master Series models.
Playing a vital role in delivering high-quality picture in the A9G, the X1 Ultimate has a unique algorithm that can intelligently detect and analyze each object in the picture, resulting to a more detailed and contrasted images that are close to reality. It controls precisely and individually over eight million self-illuminating pixels on the OLED display.
The processor can improve SD and HD content to near 4K HDR quality and shows 4K content in stunning clarity.
It has high-quality sound as well
Audio is a huge part of the viewing experience, so Sony made sure that the Master Series A9G also brings in premium quality sound to the viewers. The new Sound-from-Picture Reality feature reproduces the position of the sound on the screen. Say the actors speaks, the sound appears to come directly from their lips and not from where the speakers are positioned.
Meanwhile, the Acoustic Surface Audio+ provides a immersive audio with the sound coming from the entire screen. The sound coming from the TV envelopes you while watching. In addition, a TV Center Speaker Mode gives you the choice to use the A9G as the center speaker.
Available in 55- and 65-inch sizes, the Sony Master Series A9G brings supersized entertainment to home viewers—no need to go to the cinemas to enjoy the big screen experience. Don’t worry about it hogging living room or bedroom space as this television comes in a very slim form factor. It also has a wall-mount design.
It’s calibrated for entertainment
The A9G features Netflix Calibrated Mode, IMAX Enhanced, and Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos so you can watch content the way its creator intended.
It supports Google services
An Android TV, the A9G OLED supports a huge range of apps from Google Play. You can access YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Video, and more right from your display. Google Assistant also comes built-in in this TV, allowing you to control the Master Series A9G without using your hands.
No announcement yet on the price of the Sony Bravia Master Series A9G. However, Sony already announced that it will become available in the Philippines in the second quarter of 2019.
