Ride and drive with the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe
Seven months after its global reveal and five months after its unveiling at the Manila International Auto Show, we got up close and personal with the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe.
Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official importer and distributor of Hyundai cars in the country, invited us to put the Santa Fe through its paces through a three-day regional test drive dubbed “Sea to Summit Conquest.” From September 3 to 5, the local motoring media and journos from neighboring countries like Malaysia, Cambodia, and Singapore joined the test drive.
Some 20 units of the all-new Santa Fe were driven for 146 kilometers of combined expressway, provincial, and urban driving, including challenging winding roads leading to Mount Samat Shrine in Bataan and the cobblestone streets of Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar.
The 4th-generation Santa Fe is powered by a 2.2L CRDi engine that produces 200ps @ 3,800rpm and 441Nm @ 1,740-2,750rpm. Its improved eight-speed automatic transmission and monocoque structure promises to give you quicker, crisper shifts with far, better controlled body roll.
Inside this seven-seater SUV is an uncluttered cabin crafted from the finest natural materials combined with intuitive technology. It comes with a 7-inch display, around-view monitor, infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a heads-up display. To add to your driving convenience, the Santa Fe comes with, plush leather seats, cruise control, and anti-lock braking system.
The all-new Hyundai Santa Fe is now available in Hyundai dealerships nationwide with a suggested retail price of P2,338,000.
