An open letter to that friend who always shares memes
Dear friend who always shares memes,
That’s it. That’s the letter.
No, I’m just kidding.
It’s common knowledge that there are different types of people on Facebook. First, we have those who post photos and updates frequently. You’ll know whether they went on vacation or got a haircut because they will post about anything.
Second, there are those who rarely post anything at all. (I find myself falling under this category as I occasionally post on the social platform.)
And finally, there are those who share every meme that makes them laugh. Most of the time, these people will take up a chunk of your timeline.
Personally, I don’t mind the surplus of memes since it gives me a lot of content to scroll through and scoff at.
Has anyone else had their timeline be all memes? And all of these shares come from one specific Facebook friend? I mean, I’m not complaining. I even want to say thank you.
You don’t know how many times scrolling through my timeline has made me laugh. Some people might find the quantity of content overwhelming, but I’m here to say keep it coming. Keep sharing the good stuff that you know will paint a smile on your face as well as others’. I validate your good vibes memes.
It’s funny because I don’t even have to like a lot of Facebook pages nowadays to be exposed to memes. As long as I’ve got Facebook friends who fall under the last category I mentioned above, I’m all set.
To end this letter, I think I just want to say, I hope you’ll never worry about being annoying on Facebook. Express yourself the way you want to while still remembering to be a decent human being.
Keep those memes coming! I might not react to them, but know that I do see them. I’ll save my reactions for when we see each other in person again, and let’s have a good lengthy conversation about your funny memes.
Your friend and fan
