There’s a new city runabout, and it’s as bold and robust as a good cup of joe.
The 2020 Suzuki S-Presso is an SUV-styled hatchback that stands out in the small subcompact crossover segment with its athletic stance. It has a boxy profile, squared wheel arches, and a high 180mm ground clearance. Completing its classic Suzuki SUV look is the distinct lamp design, signature C-shaped taillamps, strong character lines, and muscular front grille.
The body-design of the S-Presso centers on Suzuki’s Total Effective Control Technology (TECT) concept, which helps protect the cabin in the event of a collision by efficiently absorbing and dispersing energy to mitigate damage to the car and its occupants. Other safety features include dual airbags, rear parking assist, and anti-brake locking systems.
Inside, there’s a center-mounted console where you can find a digital-type speedometer, a 7-inch touchscreen audio system, front power windows controls, manual A/C controls, a 12V socket, and USB port.
Other amenities include a 239-liter luggage compartment, cup holders, console and door pockets, and a foldable rear bench.
Only one variant of the S-Presso is available locally: the P518,000 S-Presso GL MT. This is powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine that puts out 67hp and 90Nm and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
You can get this funky small-but-tall hatch in Sizzle Orange, Fire Red, Metallic Granite Gray, or Metallic Silky Silver. It’s available in all 79 Suzuki dealerships nationwide.
