ASUS intros Vivobook 13 Slate with detachable keyboard, OLED screen

ASUS has unveiled the new Vivobook 13 Slate, the world’s first 13.3-inch Windows laptop with a full-size detachable keyboard and OLED touchscreen.

The electronics giant touts the Vivobook 13 Slate as a groundbreaking device not only for its detachable keypad but more so, for its OLED screen, which is rarely seen in 2-in-1 laptops.

Asus claims that this one has a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, which means it brings out every detail even in the darkest scenes, and a fast 0.2-millisecond response time.

It’s also PANTONE validated and DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified for delivering accurate, vivid colors — all while offering a TÜV Rheinland-certified eye protection up to up to 70% lower than an LCD display.

This all-in-one work and entertainment device runs Windows 11 and is powered by a quad-core 3.3 GHz Intel processor. It also comes with the ASUS Pen 2.0, which offers a 4096-level pressure sensitivity, 5-350 gram pen-tip force, and 266 Hz sampling rate for a natural feel when drawing or writing.

The slate has a 13 MP rear back camera for taking photos and a 5 MP in front for video calls. Its Dolby Atmos speakers come with AI noise-canceling tech to keep voices in meetings are as clear as possible.

While ASUS has yet to announce the device’s price and availability in the Philippines, it is set to go on sale for $599.99 USD (~P30,210) in the US this December.
