Apple iPhone 13, 13 mini feature Cinematic Mode, brighter display

Apart from the iPhone 13 Pro series, Apple also launched the base model iPhone 13 during its California Streaming event. As with last year, the series comes in two versions: the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 and the 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini.

Both devices come with a Super Retina XDR display that supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG. According to Apple, the screens are 28% brighter with 800 nits and 1,200 nits HDR peak brightness.

Like its Pro siblings, the iPhone 13 range is powered by the new A15 Bionic chip and runs iOS 15. Apple claims better battery life for both phones: up to 1.5 hours longer on the iPhone 13 Mini, and up to 2.5 hours longer on the iPhone 13.

The new advanced machine learning algorithms unlock what is arguably the iPhone 13’s biggest feature: Cinematic Mode. When using the mode, the camera can lock onto your subject to keep them in focus whether they’re moving or standing still. The camera can even pull focus from one subject to another.

The rear camera system is composed of a 12MP wide camera with 26mm focal length equivalent, f/1.5 aperture, and sensor-shift stabilization, and a 12MP ultra-wide shooter, on the other hand, has a faster sensor while keeping its 13mm focal length equivalent and f/2.4 aperture.

The iPhone 13 and 13 mini come in Product(RED), Starlight, Midnight, blue, and pink.
